ABE's solid-state TV transmitters and transposers for analogue and digital terrestrial broadcasting are high-end technology built for performance, quality and reliability.
They employ high performance driving units and wide band, highly efficient power amplifiers using MOSFET and LD-MOS semiconductors, AB class polarised and properly pre-corrected to obtain the necessary linearity. Efficiency is further enhanced by using switched mode power supplies, with PFC - Power Factor (cos. ƒ ) Correction to minimise reactive power consumption and which in medium and high power products is close to zero.

PM & DML Microwave Links – Digital & Analogue
ABE links in the "PM" Series (both analogue and digital versions) and in the "DML" Series (only digital) operate in all the microwave frequency bands commonly used for STL (Studio to Transmitter Link), Contribution / Distribution Networks and Mobile Communications.
These have been designed for the transmission of high quality TV, Audio and Data signals using digital QPSK-QAM or OFDM modulation schemes or analogue frequency modulation.
Standard production includes models operating in the 2GHz, 3-5 GHz, 7-8GHz, 10GHz, 14GHz and 20-24GHz bands; for other bands, please contact us.
The links are now available in the following configurations:
- Fixed indoor version - housed in standard 19'' rack drawers, comprising the IF Modulator, Converter-Transmitter, Converter-Receiver, and the IF Demodulator.
- Outdoor version (fixed or mobile), with Modulator and Demodulator in standard 19" rack mounting chassis and RF Heads for Transmitter and Receiver in outdoor sealed units, fitted on tripods, or in mast housings to be mounted near the antennas.

EMX-MUX MPEG-2 Encoders & Multiplexers
The MPEG-2 professional Encoders (4:2:0 - MP@ML), designed and produced by ABE, represent the latest technology and high quality solution at a very attractive price!
ABE Encoders compress video signals (digital, analogue composite or YC, both PAL and NTSC) in real time, together with audio channels, producing an MPEG-2 transport stream with a bitrate which can be adjusted from less than 1Mbit/s up to over 15Mbit/s.
This product is extremely flexible and the number of parameters which are user adjustable (through the provided software) is very high: over 200. For example, the video and audio encoding bit rate can be adjusted, the video resolution (up to full D1), the GOP length and structure, the filters, the PID, the audio sampling frequency, video analogue to digital converter parameters (comb or notch filter, level control, etc.) and several others, can all be adjusted.
In the internal memory, the encoder stores up to 8 different configurations which can be easily and quickly recalled.
Besides this, ABE Encoders extract Teletext or Closed Captioning data from video analog or digital signals making them available for the multiplexer, which re-inserts them into the transport stream.
The ABE multiplexer combines the outputs of different encoders, producing a multi-program transport stream. The multiplexer can also "re-multiplex", modify existing transport streams, adding or deleting programs and/or data (for example MHP data - the Multimedia Home Platform); it also includes and/or modifies tables (for example NIT - Network Information Table - containing program names, SDT, TDT etc.). DVM-DME Digital Modulators
ABE manufactures a wide range of latest generation digital modulators, all with high quality and performance, suitable for different purposes.
The main applications are:
- Terrestrial Broadcasting (DVB-T and ATSC standards)
- Satellite distribution and contribution (DVB-S and DVB-DSNG standards)
- Microwave Links (DVB-S, DVB-C and DVB-DSNG standards)
ABE Modulators employ the latest technology FPGA (Field Programmable Logic Array) and DSP (Digital Signal Processor); modulation schemes are according to the reference standard and include OFDM (DVB-T), 8VSB (ATSC), QPSK (DVB-S), QPSK, 8PSK and 16QAM (DVB-DSNG) and QAM (DVB-C).
Output may be at Intermediate Frequency (IF, according to the standard, at 36 or 44 or 70MHz) or in the VHF, UHF or L bands.
All the modulators are designed to transmit MPEG Transport Stream data (according to the DVB or ATSC standard) and are normally provided with the ASI input interface. The input transport stream, except for some particular cases, is automatically adapted to the data speed (bit-rate) requested by the modulator through adding or discarding null data packets; while carrying out this operation, the modulator also provides the update of the time reference (PCR) in the transport stream (time re-stamping).

DVM-DME Satellite Uplinks
The new ABE digital Satellite Uplink solutions for contribution or distribution and
broadcasting, combines hi-end performance with high product quality and flexibility for a very competitive price.
Digital Modulators (for example the DVM 1000/SL), produced both for the DVB-S standard (QPSK modulation scheme) and for the DVB-DSNG standard (QPSK, 8PSK and 16QAM modulation schemes), can be supplied with 70MHz IF output or with synthesized "L" band output.
Among available options are those that can be installed inside the modulators, the power supply and the 10MHz high stability reference oscillator for the BUC (Block Up-Converter), one or more MPEG encoders and the multiplexer (please see DME 1000/SL series).
The Digital Modulator, combined with a transmission converter (BUC), plus, eventually, a power amplifier and a parabolic antenna for the chosen frequency range (usually Ku band - 14 to 14.5GHz - or C band - 5.85 to 6.43GHz), makes a complete Satellite Uplink solution.

LB Series VHF & UHF TV Panel Antennas & Accessories
ABE panel antennas in the "LB" series, rugged in construction and designed to be weatherproof and to last for many years, are the basic units of which more complex antenna systems may be built, designed according to the installation and radiation needs.

The "LB" antenna panels, broad-band to cover the entire VHF or UHF band, can be supplied for horizontal or vertical polarization, have a standard -3dB beam-width of 60° and can accept input powers up to 1 or 2KW per panel.
RTI can also offer CAD design for complex arrays, coverage prediction maps at all frequencies and parabolic antennas for microwave links along with a full range of accessories such as filters, power splitters and feeders.

NM Network Manager: Telemetry & Remote Control System
The advanced global solution for the remote monitoring and control of the equipment, stations and networks.

Network Manager is an advanced remote control system, suitable for single equipment, complete stations or entire networks with hundreds of sites.
It is based on management software (for Windows® only) which allows users to connect and control, by GSM/radio or telephone modems, the control and interface units, implemented in several of ABE's equipment (transmitters, microwave links, encoders etc.), or that can be provided as separate units to be interfaced with other equipment, from third parties, or to monitor/control stations.
With this system it is possible to remotely monitor equipment parameters and to carry out various control operations or, in the case of a fault, diagnosis.
This enables significant time savings and reduction of management expense for stations and entire networks.
The level of detail is very high: for example, in a TV Transmitter it is possible to read not only the output power and its return loss, but also mains voltage, the current of the modules in the power amplifiers, the ambient and the heat sink temperatures.
Control functions include adjustment of output power, various switching, equipment reset and many others.

PM ENG Microwave Links
An ABE "ENG" microwave link in the "PM/P" Series (synthesized, operating in the 1.6 to 2.5GHz band) is the ideal system for connecting a wireless TV camera (also mounted on motor vehicles, motorcycles, etc.) to a production center.

It can also be used as a mobile link and it is able to transfer high quality video and audio signals.
In operation, the range depends on the type of antenna used and output power but can extend to several kilometres.
Circularly polarized antennas (omnidirectional or directional for the transmitter; unidirectional helices for the receiver) are normally used to reduce RF multipath problems due to multiple reflections.
